I would also argue that just giving us flying right away would not be the only thing that makes the game good/bad. You will get the rep naturally by doing the content as it is. Kudos if flying is the only thing that makes it good or bad for you.

Zones are built in such a way now that with the flight master's whistle I don't even really miss it.

RLooking at their stance on flying, it's quite impressive they'll even let people fly in those zones.1.
