Rainbow Six Siege players discovered an exploit last week that let IQ to sink into the floor and slide around. The exploit was fairly game-breaking, but fortunately, Ubisoft has deployed a patch that seems to address the issue, at least on PC. Several tutorial videos have appeared that demonstrate how. A new Rainbow Six Siege exploit being abused by blaggards is like Rainbow Six Siege on acid!!! The glitch, dubbed “Bird Box” by YouTuber “MicrowaveGaming” (a reference that will make more sense if you’ve seen that new Netflix film), fills the victim’s screen with garbage jumbled polygons when they see it.

Next installment of the In Depth series regarding Siege. Originally I wasn't going to post these here after making the initial announcement of the series as I didn't want to come across as spammy or inappropriate given my moderator status. However after having received the encouragement and support of the Rainbow Six reddit administrators to do so, I will.Today's topical is interesting in that there are people who feel very passionately for as well as against the types of movement exploits that are talked about. Wherever you fall on the spectrum though, just remember good reddiquette and to respect opinions that you may not agree with.

(reposted since the link was wrong originally). There's no prone stance in Siege. Was one announced? Agreed that 'drop-shotting' is a crummy mechanic.

Making people go to crouch first isn't gonna fix things, it'd just get in the way. That said, I don't think prone is expected. As far as bob and weave affecting accuracy, they're already cutting the side-to-side movement speed, and moving kills accuracy when shooting from the hip. Making moving shake the camera when ADS might be realistic, but I think it'd be a bit nauseating. The side-to-side movement reduction should hopefully keep bob and weave from providing such a big advantage, but it's not a total cure.

I think that last bit you're just gonna have to leave in. I have to admit, I did not have access to the closed Alpha myself so I don;t have the benefit of first hand play. That said, I did however watch as many live streams and videos of the Alpha game play. I have seen many instances of prone stance. I've watched drop shotting and strafe dancing so I know they're in there.

I'll point you to this review here:Here's an example of strafe dance shooting with pretty much no penalty to accuracy and side to side movement at full speed at 26:08He talks about strafing mechanics at 6:18, and 22:38 as well.Drop shotting is mentioned specifically at 11:13Throughout the video you can see operators get down on their bellies in the full prone position, though he doesn't show on screen any actual drop shotting in a firefight. Even though it's not on this video, I have seen drop shotting on others.I do acknowledge that now they have changed movement speeds and slowed things down. That's good and we'll have to see how that all balances now. Until we play the beta, we have really don't know. Hip fire accuracy was handled, but ADS seems to have little to no accuracy penalties while moving, even at full speeds. Again I don;t have the benefit of first hand play with the game yet, I'm merely compiling what I've seen and heard others say they experienced during their time with it.

I will concede that ranges in games are not the same as ranges in real life. Mostly it's due to the economies of scale.

Take a game like Operation Flashpoint that DID try to do realistic ranges on weapons, half the time you could effectively engage targets at 100, 200 and 300m but they were SO far away it felt like you were pixel popping even though the scale was far closer to real world. That's an example where realism gives way to gameplay unfortunately. The things to suffer the most tend to be the shorter range weapons like pistols and shotguns because they have to be so exaggerated to scale with the medium and long range weapons. Also to Cochise's point, your shells due make a difference.

Buckshot versus birdshot versus slugs versus sabots are all going to be very different in terms of damage patterns and effective ranges. The purpose of a slug is to turn a shotgun pretty much into a smooth bore rifle. But the trade off is you lose the traditional advantage of the shotgun which is the fire cone spread and significant damage at closer ranges when the fire cone is tighter. So you both definitely have some valid points.

Rainbow Six Siege has a running Lord Tachanka meme, sarcastically, due to him being one of the weakest operators on the roster. Some banter between content creators and a Ubisoft community developer suggests a rework may be on the way.Rainbow Six Siege's worst operator, Tachanka, is not in that spot due to his weapons being bad, but rather due to their ACOG-less short range that has no synergy with his three armour, one-speed anchor style of gameplay. On top of that, Tachanka's gadget, the Degtyarev LMG is stationary and requires an operator to be stuck behind it in order to be operated.Any, if not all, of these weak points stand to be changed in the future, now that a content creator, Snedger, suggested that Lord Tachanka meme is dead.

One could dismiss this as just ramblings on Twitter, but Ubisoft's community manager Craig Robinson, also known as ItsEpi, initially replied by saying that the meme had a good run.Upon Snedger's statement that Tachanka is just ' ', ItsEpi once again replied by saying that this will not be the case forever, suggesting that a rework is in the pipeline. Considering it has been literal years of Tachanka being useless, it would be high time for him to either get buffs or properly reworked. Some players were even joking he would never get a rework, due to the meme living on and this theory gained some credibility with the Outbreak event. It was here that Tachanka could really shine, as the AI opponents didn't really bother to exploit his immobility while using Degtyarev and its firepower turned him into an absolute killing machine.

Another meme was born here, about Ubisoft not updating Tachanka, but rather creating entirely new modes just for him.Ubisoft Rainbow Six Siege TachankaBear in mind that this was just a Twitter exchange between the community manager and a Twitch content creator so nothing is set in stone just yet. Kingdom come deliverance playing with the devil quest. Still, ItsEpi's comment raises legitimate questions about Tachanka's future, so we might actually see him becoming relevant in Year Four.
